Mama in Training: September 2012

Time is just FLYING by and I am struggling to spend time blogging. I also do not want to give up any of my limited time with Lilly to sit on a computer and sort pictures. She is sleeping right now, so I am stealing away to blog!

We are having such an amazing time with Lilly lately! She is really getting her own personality and is so much fun to be around.

She is still teething, so it's been a DROOL FEST! We must go through 5 or more bibs every day just because of the drool. She is constantly sucking on her hand and fingers. She has even found her thumb a few times. If she wakes up from a nap or at night, we often hear her sucking away at her fingers to soothe herself back to sleep (like the first picture below).

Lilly is laughing a lot lately and is full of smiles! I get so excited when she laughs! It's amazing how accomplished I feel when I can get her to laugh. Darren is very good at making her laugh, but that isn't surprising ;o)

We are working on sitting up and using Lilly's (gasp!) Bumbo seat. Don't worry, we have enough common sense not to put her in it on a high surface and leave her there ;o) She is a little wobbly still, but her neck control is excellent and I think she'll be sitting up on her own in no time! Tummy time seems easy to her now and she doesn't get frustrated or upset by it. My baby is getting so big!

Our amazing babysitter is still making my days at work easier by sending me picture of Lilly. It is so nice to see what she is doing even when I can't be with her. My heart aches just writing this. I miss her when she is sleeping, let alone when she is in someone else's care all day. I soak up every minute of Lilly time that I can on weekends and after work, but it's not enough.

I have a new phone now that has a great camera on it, so hopefully I will be able to get a lot of great pictures and videos. I am still getting used to it and I am NOT a technology oriented person, but I have at least learned how to take and post pictures.

Fall is finally here, so we've been taking a nightly walk with Lilly before bath time. It's great that we have a solid routine for her at night. She really loves going on walks and she LOVES her bath time!
