Lilly Rae - Week 34

Sunday, February 3

34 weeks have gone by so quickly!  Lilly changes a little bit every day and never ceases to amaze me.  She is so vocal and loves to experiment with new sounds.  She has recently started blowing raspberries  and shouting.  She still does her signature Lilly grunting when she is frustrated, too.  We will take that over crying any day!

Monday, February 4

Kristi sent me this picture at work and I forwarded it to several of my coworkers who I knew would appreciate that my 8 month old daughter is reading a book.  :-)  She clearly is her mother's daughter because she already loves book...and not just to chew on.  I love that she know how to hold it and even turns the pages.  When I read to her at night, she is always eager to get to the next page.  She really seems to enjoy when we read books to her; I know I do.

Tuesday, February 5

I love this beautiful smile!  She has changed so much.  It is amazing how having two teeth makes her look so much older.  My baby is growing up so fast!

Wednesday, February 6

I know this picture is upside down, but this is the way Kristi took it and sent it to me, and I think it's really cute.  She is so cute!

Lilly loves to sit on her own out of her Bumbo seat, but she is still a little tippy, so I use the couch as a buffer sometimes.  She doesn't seem to mind!

Thursday, February 7

Kristi took Lilly to BJs today and Lilly rode in the cart like a big girl (don't worry, Kristi assured me that she cleared it off first!).  I realized that we have a cart cover to give her, but we hadn't pulled it out because I thought Lilly was too little to sit in the cart...I was wrong!  I guess I am still trying to keep her as my little baby, but she is becoming my big girl!  She definitely enjoys sitting in the cart.  I am not sure her "boyfriend" Sam liked it quite as much.  Kristi even found a way for Lilly to enjoy her toy while she was riding.  :o)

Friday, February 8

Still no crawling, but Lilly likes to trick us all and make us think she is going to crawl when she gets on her tummy.  Unfortunately, she does not enjoy being on her tummy, so it's hard to encourage her to crawl.  We work on standing and pulling up instead.  Maybe she will just skip crawling; who knows!

Lilly does sit up on her perfectly now.  I think back to when she was my little peanut who needed me to hold her head up, and now...*sigh*  I love every new stage with Lilly, but I definitely miss the previous stages as well.  I marvel at how fast she is growing up, and I try to treasure every moment.

Saturday, February 9
Lilly loves to grab things and play "tug of war."  She has a really strong grip (trust me,  my hair has first hand knowledge), but her favorite past is when whatever she is tugging gets pulled from her hands.  We bought a new collar for Maggie and Lilly thought it was a perfect new toy.
