Day 50 – July 29,
2012
We went out to breakfast this morning to Biscuitville. I admit that we probably go get breakfast
there more often than we should for the sake of our wallets and bank accounts,
but it is so good! J Lilly is also such a great baby that we can
go out without added stress.
Daddy love's Lilly's monkey toes!
After that we ventured to Holly Springs to get groceries at
Walmart and Harris Teeter. While in
Walmart I had to borrow Darren’s sweatshirt because Lilly started crying and
she was definitely hungry…the moms out there know what I am talking about! I felt like Lilly couldn’t wait until we got
home but we still needed some things at Harris Teeter, so I fed her in the car
while Darren ran into the store. This
wasn’t the first time I have fed her in the car. It’s actually not as tricky as I
thought.
We went and hung out with Jared and Carissa that afternoon
and watched some of the Olympics. It was
pretty hot outside so Lilly and I stayed in, but Addie and Drew enjoyed playing
outside on their water table. It was
nice to just hang out and relax, especially for Darren and Jared who had their
first day of school the following day.

Day 51 – July 30,
2012
So a strange site met me when I went to check on Lilly this
morning. I need to explain the picture
below so you can get a sense of how nuts this is. Imagine Lilly’s crib is like a clock. When I put her to bed, her head is at 9 o’clock
and her feet are at 3 o’clock. When I
checked on her at around 7, her head was at 1 o’clock and her feet were at 7 o’clock
(like in the picture). When she woke up
around 9, her head at was 3 o’clock and her feet at 9 o’clock! She had completely spun herself around! Is that normal for a 7 week old?
It was Darren’s first official day of work (not a workday)
so we celebrated by going out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays…plus we had a $10 off
coupon that expired today, so why not?
Our server kept on commenting on how sweet and precious Lilly is. I don’t blame her; it is hard to look at her
and not melt. As always, Lilly was
awesome. We took turns giving her a
bottle while the other ate their salad and then she slept while we ate
dinner.
It was such a nice night when we got home that we decided to take a walk. I cannot wait until it’s cool enough to be outside any time of day, not just at night. After our walk we gave Lilly a bath. She is so adorable in the bath we just had to take video. I will try to upload it later, but for now it's "under construction"
Day 54 – August 2, 2012
Lilly falls asleep on my nursing pillow and so I don't disturb her, I just lay it on the couch with her on it and she sleeps :o)
Look at that face!
She has the cutest outfits!
Big smile!
I hope you aren't getting sick of these pictures because I am never going to get sick of taking them!
She loves sticking her tongue out!
Day 52 – July 31, 2012
I was very excited because today Lilly and I ventured to Cary to meet some of the moms and babies from our birthing class that we had in March. It was so nice to see two of the moms again and to meet their adorable babies. We even set up another time to get together next week. I am really looking forward to having some other first time moms to get together with and swap stories, advice and tips with.
I taught a quick voice lesson at the theater that evening and then Chad and Michelle came over. Allie and Ryan were with John and Marcy (Michelle’s parents) so we just hung out, ate pizza and watched the Olympics. Michelle got in some nice cuddle time with Lilly of course J

This is one of several outfits with a tutu :o)
Day 53 – August 1,
2012
Lilly woke up early this morning (6:45) so we got to say
goodbye to Darren before he went to work.
She is still sleeping really well, so I am not going to complain about
her getting up early. She went to bed at
about 9:30, woke up at 3:00 to nurse, and then didn’t wake up again until
6:45. She usually takes a longer nap in
the afternoon (right now while I am writing this in fact), and will sleep intermittently
throughout the morning or evening. She
is awesome in every way J I actually scheduled a voice lesson today at
10 to see if I could do it with Lilly here.
At first I tried putting her in her crib because she was on the verge of
sleep, but she didn’t like that, so I put her in the bouncy seat in the room
with us and she was great; she didn’t make a peep the entire hour long
lesson.
Good morning, Lilly!
Cuddle time with Daddy once he got home from work

Day 54 – August 2, 2012
Lilly didn’t sleep as well as normal last night, so
we were both pretty tired this morning.
She took quite a few “cat naps” but didn’t really take her normal
afternoon nap. I hope she sleeps a bit
better tonight. I get worried that she
isn’t feeling well. I was telling
Michelle the other night that I know most people would think I am crazy, but
Lilly almost seems to be exhibiting signs of teething already. She has a very minor runny nose, she is
always chewing her fist, and she wants to nurse constantly. I am hoping it is just a growth spurt because
if she is starting teething now, we are in for a really long year ;o)
We read some books today and I found one that is a
touch and feel for her feet! How cute is
that? I am already obsessed with her
adorable feet, and now there is a book devoted to playing with her feet. That is a mommy favorite, but she is a little
young to really get it still. She likes
the Baby Einstein book with the push buttons that play music.
Lilly was a little tuckered out from last night...she stayed up from 1-3:30...Mommy was tucked out too!
Apparently she was still happy though!
She has recently "found" her tongue and is constantly sticking it out. I love it!
She was mid "coo" for this picture.
Her "monkey" bib matches her "monkey toes"!
Day 55 – August 3, 2012
It was a fairly nice day out today (not too hot in
the morning), so Lilly and I ventured to downtown Varina. I wanted to check out the Lazy Lion Bookstore
to see if they had any books for Lilly and also my classroom. Lilly behaved perfectly while I browsed the
books and we found some great Winnie the Pooh, Dr. Seuss and Disney books for
Lilly.
After that I was going to head home but I happened
to park right near the CupCakeBite…so I went in just to see what they had. Of course I left with a couple cupcakes for
Darren and I. How can you go into a
cupcake store and not buy at least one cupcake??? Darren and I enjoyed our cupcakes on the
porch that night after Lilly went to sleep.
Another one of Lilly's adorable outfits
Lilly loves to "dance" on her changing table
This is a great "before" we went shopping...
and "after" we went shopping.
She looks a little frightened, but I swear she loves playing on her mat!
Playing with Daddy before bed
Day 56 – August 4, 2012
We went to the Fuquay Grower’s Market this morning
to get some fresh veggies. Everyone was
telling us how beautiful Lilly is. Then
we went to Stick Boy to get some fresh bread before peeking into some of the
other shops in downtown. We try to
support the local businesses whenever possible.
We also got to stop by the theater and see Cindy for a little bit. It was nice to be out of the house.
Later that day we decided to use a coupon we had and
go get lunch at Cooley’s. Unfortunately,
the air conditioning was broken so the mean was a little bit miserable. Lilly was WAY too hot in her seat so I had to
take her out and hold her. When she fell
asleep I laid her changing mat on the seat and let her lay down to stay
cool. I couldn’t enjoy my meal though
because I basically kept one hand on Lilly the entire time. Next time we will make sure the A/C is
working.
We went home and watched the Olympics in our air
conditioned house to cool off. I guess
the heat wore Lilly out because she took a nice nap on me. Again, I will NEVER get tired of this. I will let her do this forever!
I don't know if there is a happier baby in the morning
She looks deep in thought here...
I think she is trying to tell us something here...
