It was a beautiful day today so we decided to go to Bass Lake for a picnic and a walk. I was trying to get Lilly used to her baby carrier again since we hadn't used it in a while, but I think she is still a little too small for it and she gets frustrated when she can't see. A friendly gentleman offered to take a picture of the three of us, which was really nice. We don't have that many pictures of all of us.
Lilly is 15 weeks old. It's still surreal to me every time I look at her. My heart is so full that it's hard for me to believe there is any more room to love her, but every day I prove myself wrong because I love her even more.
Someone was super sleepy when we came home.
Look at how big my baby is!
"Hey mommy! Look at my tongue!"
Monday, September 24
Mondays are always hard because I have to spend time away from my Lilly again. This Monday wasn't as bad though because I knew track out (3 weeks off) was just 5 days away. I sometimes hate that I am counting down the days at work because I really do love my job, but I love my Lilly so much more.
There's that tongue again!
I think she looks a lot like me in this picture
She is so expressive!
We had a lot of fun today when we came home from work. Lilly watched me cook dinner while Darren was tutoring next door, and she had the best time "finding" her feet! I was laughing so hard watching her because she was so proud of herself every time she grabbed them. She would lift them up and show me with a big smile on her face. I tried to capture the moment, but I don't know that these pictures do it justice.
At bedtime, Darren read Lilly her favorite book, the Touch and Feel Farm. I have video of it, but it won't upload. It was so cute to watch him read to her and how "intense" her face was as she listened and reached for all of the pictures.
Look at my feet! I found my feet!
Did you see me mommy?
Mom, are you still looking???

Lilly is very responsive to toys now. If you have something in front of her and move it back and forth, she will follow it with her head and eyes. She is starting to grab at things as well, but hasn't quite been able to reach all of the toys on her play mat. She still likes looking at them though. She still loves her bath and has been very happy to chew on her washcloth (a different one than the one I use to bathe her!). She is teething in full force and I think the texture of the washcloth feels good on her gums. She is also putting her full weight on her legs ALL the time and loves to "stand" while being held. I am kind of amazed that she can hold her body weight up with very little effort. Granted, she does not have the balance to do much else except stand there, but I love that she is getting stronger and meeting those "milestones" that you read about in the books and at the doctor's.
Mmmmm...washcloth
We have been told she looks like a Kewpie doll (I had to look that one up)

As you can see from the pictures below, Lilly's teeth are her priority. She has her hands in her mouth pretty much nonstop and she wears her teething necklace every day. It's not a necklace for her to chew on, it's a necklace that has healing oils and properties that help with the pain and discomfort of teething naturally. I highly recommend an amber teething necklace for ALL teething babies!
Mmmmm...hand

Yay! Today was our last day of work before track out (except for a workday for me on Monday...but that doesn't count!) Lilly was obviously excited to have us home!
I was trying out the self portrait setting on my camera...I am still getting the hang of it!
Saturday, September 29
We spent a relaxing Saturday together as a family. We had some packing to do for our trip and things to get done, but we also had plenty of time to just enjoy hanging out together.
It was a great day because Lilly rolled over from her belly to her back! I have it on video but it won't upload! I will work on it.
We went to Chad and Michelle's for dinner and then snuck over to CupcakeBite before closing to get their evening cupcake special. I love cupcakes! :o)

Sleepy baby!
Good morning!
Lilly enjoys sitting in her Bumbo seat. Pretty soon she will be sitting up on her own!
She loves playing with her feet
I love her expression here. She looks so interested and curious!
This is right before she rolled over!
