Lilly Rae - Week 19

Sunday, October 21

I did not feel well this morning so Darren was (as always) an amazing husband and father and took care of Lilly while I rested.  In the afternoon I started to feel a little bit better so we went for a walk.  Lilly loves going on walks or riding in the car.  I think it might be because I was always moving while I was pregnant so she got used to constant motion, but maybe not.  I can't imagine NOT liking being pushed around in a stroller!

Pretty soon she will be sitting up in this Boppy pillow!

Today was our first day back to work with students.  I missed Lilly so much during the day, but luckily the day is so jammed full and so busy that it goes by quickly and I get to see my baby again!  I absolutely light up every time I get a picture from Kristi and I get to see what Lilly is up to during the day.  I am so glad that we found the perfect babysitter.  It really makes going to work easier...not easy...but easier.
Hanging out with Kristi

Our  nightly tummy time

We are working on sitting up on our own.  We still need a little support.
Lilly loves to stand up

Hanging out with Daddy after work.

Lilly loves her new toy that Aunt Mare got her.  It's soft to cuddle with, but has pieces she can chew on as well.
Hi Lilly!

The elephant that hangs on Lilly's carseat is her absolute favorite thing to play with!  She loves looking at it, talking to it and reaching for the mirror and rattle part.
Since day 1 Lilly has loved her bath time.  We give her a bath every night as part of our bedtime routine.  She loves having water poured on her and grabbing at the washcloth.  I have started giving her her own washcloth to play with while I wash her.

Lilly has been very "into" her feet lately.  She loves lifting them up in the air and grabbing them.  She also loves trying to stick them in her mouth!

She uses the washcloth as a teether as well.  Pretty much anything she can grab and put in her mouth becomes a teether for Lilly :o)

Nice and clean and ready for bed!

I am not sure if this video is going to work, but it's a video of Lilly "singing" on our way home from Kristi's house.  I had to get this on film because it's a daily ritual and every day Darren and I smile and laugh the whole way home because Lilly literally coos and sings the entire time!  I like to think she is telling us about her day :o)

That night we went to Chad and Michelle's for dinner to celebrate Allie's birthday.  It was great to see all the kids and hang out with great friends!  Lilly was in a great mood, so Darren and I got to eat while she played on her blanket.  It was really nice!

Aunt Carissa got her baby fix

This is Lilly singing as well

Lilly and I went to Story Time in Holly Springs tonight.  The kids were supposed to dress in their costumes, so I put Lilly in her puppy costume.  Unfortunately, it was a warm night and with the costume and carseat, Lilly was NOT comfortable.  I took her out of the costume before we left and she went sans costume.  It was ok though.  The story time really isn't for her age group anyway.  I was mostly going to see friends and get out of the house while Darren was out playing corn hole with the guys.  It was really cute to see all of the kids in their costumes and Lilly enjoyed seeing everyone.

Kristi caught a picture of Lilly trying to eat her feet!

Happy at first :o)
Look at that sweet little puppy!

She was a very happy puppy!

I'm sorry, but could she be any cuter???

Friday, October 26

After a long week we enjoyed a quiet Friday night at home.  I only grabbed one picture today.  I think you can tell we were all tired and ready for a good night's sleep.

Saturday, October 27
We had two parties to go to tonight, so we were going to be party hoppers!  Apparently I was totally delusional about this because Lilly adds a lot more complication than I thought.  Lilly did not go to bed until almost 10!  That is really late for her.  She just did not want to go to sleep.  I know part of it is my fault because I have spoiled her by nursing her to sleep.  (I welcome advice on how to break this habit by the way, but I am not willing to listen to her scream at bedtime, so that is out!)  Anyway, I spent most of the party upstairs, but the time I was there was really fun.  It was great to see so many friends and to hang out with great people from HGMS.

Darren's costume was huge hit of course.  He was an old lady.  I went as a "ceiling fan" though I really just looked like a regular cheerleader I think.  Next time we'll just get a babysitter so we can enjoy the party a little bit more :o)

She loves those monkey toes!

How cute are these socks!
Lilly LOVES Maggie!  She holds her hands out to get kisses and loves it when Maggie comes up to her to kiss her.  She literally laughs out loud!  I am so glad that Maggie is good with her. We have had to stop her from kissing Lilly's face, but I figure, if that's the "worst" she does, I'll take it!

Happy Halloween!
I really shouldn't be surprised that we had two guys in drag!
Photo bomb!  Don't worry.  I snapped a good picture for Chad and Michelle once the creepy old lady got out of the way.
