Lilly Rae - Week 21

Sunday, November 4

I was surprised that Lilly's schedule was not more off today because of daylight savings time today.  I actually woke up earlier than she did!
Lilly is such a great baby.  She spent a great morning sleeping in my arms and then in Darren's arms before heading to three different grocery stores with us (I know it sounds crazy, but it's the way we get the best deals!)  We can't go anywhere without people telling us how beautiful Lilly is, so we love taking her out and about :o)
I spent a couple of hours this afternoon cooking while Darren took Lilly out to go shopping.  I love all the time I get to spend with Lilly on the weekends, but I also miss doing some of the other things I love (like cooking).  I made homemade chicken noodle soup, chicken salad and butternut squash soup in addition to getting the fruits and veggies cleaned and cut up for the week.
Lilly is getting better and better about sitting up, so for her weekly picture we tried to let her sit on her own.  She was very intrigued by the paper and decided that would make a great teething toy...so we decided it would make a great picture :o)

Lilly was very interested in the paper, so we decided, the heck with it!  Have fun!  :o)

                                                          Monday, November 5

Lilly was trying to multi task by teething on her lamb toy, playing with her caterpillar and watching Elmo at the same time.  Kristi is great about sending me pictures, especially on Mondays, because she knows how much I miss my Lilly while at work.

One of the many adorable ways that Darren plays with Lilly is by helping her "play the drums."  She absolutely loves it!  Next time I will have to get some video, but for now, these pictures capture the general idea ;o)

Tuesday, November 6

Lilly still loves to sit in her Bumbo seat.  She is trying so hard to sit up on her own, but she tends to tip  forward.  This helps her to work on sitting up and still be able to play with things in front of her :o)

She loves her doggie, Tags.  Our neighbors, Trish and Taylor, bought Tags for Lilly for no reason other than they thought she would like it.  How nice is that??
Lilly is not crazy about tummy time still, but we work on it as much as we can.
It's harder to keep her on her tummy now because she just rolls herself over!
She is obviously a very unhappy child...
I could watch her reach for and grab things all day long!  It's amazing how focused she becomes when she is reaching for something.  I can see the wonder and amazement on her face as she learns to use her fingers and hands.

Lilly has started sucking on her bottom lip when her teeth are bothering her.  Here (while we are doing airplane) she sucked her lips in and looks like she has chipmunk cheeks!

Wednesday, November 7

Kristi caught Lilly SO close to rolling from her back to her belly.  She does the same thing for us.  She stops on her side though.  She'll get there soon!  She actually sleeps on her side a lot now.  She rolls over as soon as I put her in the crib.

She is still a little too small to fully use her exersauser because her feet just barely touch the bottom, but she likes to be in it for a few minutes to explore all of the new toys.
She is VERY interested in this one!  Look how close she puts her face to the toy :o)

I love her face in this picture.  She looks like she is trying to figure something out.

                                                         Thursday, November 8

Lilly barely fits in her bouncy seat anymore, but she still likes it because she can sit up and see what we're doing.  It's also great because it's so portable.  So if I am cooking in the kitchen, I can bring her with me so she can see me and I can see her.

 She makes the cutest faces!

Anything that she can grab can and will go in her mouth!  I am still waiting for her to cut a tooth, but until then, nothing is safe from the gums of Lilly!

Extreme close up!

                                                          Friday, November 9

Lilly is such a great baby.  She is always so happy to see us when we get home from work.
I love this picture because Lilly is hugging Darren.  When she gets really excited, she kicks her legs, wraps her arms around whomever is holding her and then buries her head in your shoulder.  It's adorable!
As predicated: Lilly has Darren wrapped around her little finger ;o)
Clearly, Lilly is a miserable baby...

                                                       Saturday, November 10
Chad, Michelle and Allie came over for dinner tonight and it was a lot of fun.  I made chili and we watched What to Expect When You're Expecting.  Lilly woke up a couple of times during the movie, which is unusual for her, but she went right back to sleep after I went in to soothe her.  It's nice that we are still able to hang out with friends and do the things we used to do with just a little bit of change.  Lilly also sat at the table in her highchair for the first time!  I don't know why we hadn't done this before, but she sat and let us all eat the entire time!

It was a really nice day, so we decided to get out and take a walk.  Lilly fell asleep which gave us time to get some chores done around the house.  We had a cleaning lady for a while, but we decided that we needed to handle the cleaning on our own and save the money.
