Lilly Rae - Week 20

Sunday, October 28

It amazes me every time I see Lilly reach out and try to grab at something.  The best is when she reaches out and grabs for me :o)  My heart melts in her tiny little fingers, even when they are pulling my hair.  She also likes to grab my face and give me a "kiss" my basically sucking on my cheek for a second.  I love every minute of it!

Lilly is mesmerized by her elephant toy on her car seat.  She LOVES it!

She is rarely not kicking her legs up in the air anymore.

She is so close to being able to sit up on her own!!

Monday, October 29

Kristi was taking her daughter to see a college today so an amazing parent (Maureen) volunteered to watch Lilly for today.  It was so sweet, when we walked into her house in the morning she had bought Lilly several outfits and toys.  Her daughters were so excited for us to leave so they could play with Lilly.  It was adorable.  I felt so lucky that Maureen wanted to watch Lilly when we needed someone.  It's great to know we have a back up plan if we ever need someone.

Lilly and I went to HGMS that night to watch Darren play in the staff basketball game.  I was carrying Lilly around in her soft carrier so my hands would be free.  She loved it!  Everyone at the game was doting on her and telling me how beautiful she is (as if I didn't already know that).  It was nice to see a lot of former students and parents so they could meet Lilly.  We lost the game, but Darren did a great job and Lilly was an amazing baby the entire time (she never cried!)

Maureen sent me pictures throughout the day.  Here is Lilly admiring how adorable she is in the mirror on her playmat.
The caption for this picture in the email "crack for babies" which I was a little confused about at first, until she told me Lilly was watching Baby Einstein and would grunt at Maureen if she got in the way of the TV!
Maureen told me that Lilly would be in her arms all day, and that was just fine by me :o)
Look at my happy girl!

Tuesday, October 30

Lilly has started trying to hold her bottle at Kristi's house.
Getting ready for bed!  She is even happy at night!

I love watching her get up on her hands during tummy time.  She is going to be crawling before i know it!

She loves to stand up and show off how strong she is

Lilly still has not cut any teeth, but they are coming!  She always wants to be chewing on something...anything!
Luckily her teething has not made her cranky :o)

Wednesday, October 31

Lilly is mesmerized by Seasame Street at Kristi's house
This is Kristi's daughter Mia.  She came in to school last year once as a volunteer and all the kids said she looked like me (which I take a HUGE compliment, especially since she is only 16!).  Lilly loves Mia and I sometimes wonder if it's partly because she resembles me?  I know it's a lot because Mia is just such a wonderful girl, but maybe the resemblance has a little to do with it.

We dressed Lilly up as a puppy for Halloween.  We found her costume at a thrift store after a great tip from Carissa (you can't beat $4 for a costume!).  The suit was a little warm, and since we weren't going outside to trick or treat (I just couldn't bring myself to go to my neighbors house and ask for candy for my 5 month old), she only wore it for about 10 minutes before we took it off of her.  It was SO cute though!
Happy puppy!

Cooling off after taking her costume off.
I love reading books to Lilly.  She slaps at the pages and grabs them when I try to turn them, but she seems interested.  She looks at the pictures and likes to touch the "touch and feel" books we have.  I hope she loves to read as much as I do...for her sake ;o)

Thursday, November 1

Darren and I go in and look at Lilly every night before we go to sleep and we always say the same thing, "she is so beautiful!"  This isn't exactly what we see since she is in her car seat, not her crib, but tell me she doesn't look like an angel when she is asleep?  My heart aches when I see her sleeping because I just love her so much!  I am amazed every minute with her because I feel like my heart is growing and I am learning to love in a way I never knew possible.

Here are a million pictures of Lilly getting ready for bed after her bath.  We were just snapping away and so many of them came out great that I wanted to share them all!  I am so thankful every day for Lilly and each of these pictures is a moment that I will treasure and be thankful for forever.

Friday, November 2

When we got home from work we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood.  It was a little windy, so we put Lilly's sweatshirt on.  I LOVE hoods with ears!  How cute is this???  She loves that she can face out in her carrier now and see the world.

We went to visit Matt and Jess tonight as well as their daughter Ana and baby Emma who is 10 days older than Lilly.  Lilly and Emma look like they're wrestling in this picture!  I don't think Lilly would have stood a chance though because Emma is very strong and can roll and scoot so much she almost looks like she's ready to crawl!  Lilly is a kicker though, so watch out!  :o)

Matt was close by to referrer in case things got rough

Lilly is grabbing Emma's thigh!  How funny!

Look at how cute these two are!  I can't wait to see them grow up together :o)

Saturday, November 3

Lilly took a nap in Darren's arms today.  She was all wrapped up in her fuzzy blanket.  Cutest.  Picture.  Ever.  Period!

Our friend Sandy was visiting from New York, so we met her as well as Antonia, Matt, their baby Joey, Trish and her husband Russ out for dinner.  Joey is a few months older than Lilly and they have never seen each other except when Lilly was just a few days old so that doesn’t really count.  It was adorable to see them interact!  It was a weekend of babies!
Lilly looks like she is flirting with Joey and he is giving her the cold shoulder!  How cute!
 She is pretty determined though!
She has him by the string now!  He can't get away!
They decide to sit down and get to know each other ;o)  It was a great first date!
